Adventures in Everyday Entertaining
Wow! What a wonderful view.
Thank you! It’s a view from Laguna Gloria here in Austin, TX. The home was built for Clara Driscoll, a local philanthropist, and years later she donated it to the city for it to become the Austin Museum of Art.
Thank you. It’s so nice to have the background to the photo.
Great photo! Join my Wordless Wednesday Linky Party and feel free to continue the party on your own site. http://thejennyevolution.com/2012/12/05/wordless-wednesday-2/
It looks like Italy. Same trees, lake, sculpture….
It’s actually on Lake Austin. The house, Laguna Gloria (which is now part of the Austin Museum of Art) was built in 1916 for Clara Driscoll as a tribute to the honeymoon in Italy she had with her husband.
How about that! No wonder it looks like Italy!
Yeah, it’s wonderful! It’s such a great place to go and just walk the grounds and feel as if you’ve been transported across the Atlantic!
I would love that. But it would make me so nostalgic. I don’t know how some people do it: have family here and have family in another country then travel back and forth. It’s too hard. I’ve got relatives in Italy. I’ve visited them twice. It’s too hard to come back and leave them. I just don’t know how people do it.
Mmmm, asparagus and lemon. You can’t go wrong with the combination!
No you can’t! (Though I think you meant for this to comment to be on the Hollandaise-Asparagus Tart post and not the Wordless Wednesday photo).
Thanks Judy! It’s one of my favorite places to visit in the Austin area.
