Simple Appetizer Alert: Three Cheese Walnut Spread

Three Cheese Walnut Spread

You had me cheese and walnut!  This is a deliciously savory appetizer that is perfect to serve for guests — or to bring for a potluck!  There are only a few ingredients so it is very easy to make.  The toasting of the walnuts really adds to the flavor profile.  I set it out with brioche toasts but this would also work great with apple or pear wedges to make it completely gluten free.

Three Cheese Walnut Spread from The Pampered Chef

  • 1/2 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 ounces crumbled bleu cheese
  • 2 ounces mozzarella, shredded
  • Cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 1 Tbs fresh parsley, coarsely chopped

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Spread walnuts on a jelly pan so that they make one layer.  Bake 18 minutes, or until lightly toasted.

In a medium size bowl, place softened cream cheese.  Add bleu cheese, mozzarella, and black pepper.  Mix well.

Carefully pour most of the walnuts into the cheese mixture.  Reserve some to garnish the top of the spread with.  Mix the walnuts in with the cheese mixture.

Spoon cheese mixture into an attractive baking dish, spreading evenly.  Top with the remaining walnuts.

Bake 8-10 minutes, or until cheese is slightly melted.

Garnish with parsley and serve with fruit or crackers.

Thanks Maggie! And I agree, it is always good to have those “back pocket” recipes that you can pull out when the need arises. 🙂

Thanks Jenna! Agreed that this helps to make the winter weather um, not quite, quite as terrible. 😉
