Happy Birthday Julia!

Julia Child Sketch - Peter Emmerich

Happy Birthday Julia Child!

Julia Child would have been 101 today.  I discovered this wonderful sketch by Peter Emmerich that you see here.  Click on his name to see all of his amazing art work.

Ms. Child has been a large influence on not only my cooking, but so many others.  In honor of her birthday, here are a few of my favorite quotes from Julia Child.

“You don’t have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces — just good food from fresh ingredients.”

“Learn how to cook — try new recipes, learn from your mistakes, be fearless and above all have fun.”

“Always remember: If you’re alone in the kitchen and you drop the lamb, you can always just pick it up. Who’s going to know?”

I think people who love to cook have been touched by a divine spark and are in the same league as midwives and those who grow and understand herbs. XX

  12. That last quote is awesome. She was such a funny (and talented) lady! What a wonderful homage to her life, Kenley.
