Spring Tablescapes: Garden Rustic Chic

As the weather gets warmer (apologies to those in the northern regions that are still patiently waiting), the urge to entertain outside gets stronger and stronger!  Dining ‘Al Fresco’ whether it be a casual or an elegant meal, is always a fun experience!  Here are some great inspirations for setting your tables outdoors!  I also love the above picture and the idea of using a wheelbarrow as a serving table!!  And if grilling is your thing, make sure to bop over to The Humble Foodie and check out Alicia’s Pros and Cons of Charcoal verses Gas Grills.

We especially love the last one! The pillows make it so cozy, even though its outdoors!

Yeah, I really love that one too! It makes for such a cozy and unique setting. It also works great if you only have a coffee table for outdoors.

Oh these photos make me very anxious for the weather to warm up a bit here in the North! Thanks for the inspiration.

You’re quite welcome! And hopefully it will start warming up consistently in the North SOON! 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Kenley, thank you for the shoutout! I am biding my time to make a decision after I move (one less thing to transport!), but I’m leaning towards purchasing a gas grill. I love these summer entertaining options. There are so many beautiful wildflowers growing in untended patches in my town or along the roads…they are lovely inspiration for a tablescape. Love the idea of sitting on pillows, too!

That sounds like a good plan to wait until you move. Why lug one more thing around? 🙂
Love wildflowers and the feeling they bring to any table.
I also think its funny that you called them summer entertaining options. I laugh because for the Midwest, they totally are. Down here though…summer is NOT a time when you want to have an outdoor party (unless it is water related)…you burn up in the over 100 degree temps(even in the evenings). 😉

Haha, good call! In Virginia, I usually wait for a late dinner (8/8:30) to eat outside. Here in Illinois, afternoon entertaining is the best in spring, and when we get to June or so the evenings will be divine. I can’t wait!

I cannot believe I didn’t decorate tables until I started following your blog. I was tentative at first but my friends and family love it! These outdoor decs are lovely. Frolic is my fave.

Great inspirational tables Kenley! I am waiting for my yard to be more presentable then I want to go crazy outside! The wheel barrel is Brilliant! I saw one on HGTV pinterest board full of iced beverages, so cute! Thanks!

Oh I like that idea too! Now I need two wheelbarrows! One as a serving table and one to serve iced beverages! Oh…and I suppose I still need one to actually do yard work in! 🙂

When I go home today I’m setting up an outdoor table since the weather has finally turned. So inviting. Jo @ Let’s Face the Music

using a wheelbarrow as a serving table: I’m liking the idea but I would never be able to make it look so great! I love all these pictures for inspiration! it’s too early for us over here but WOW! I can’t wait to prepare a nice lunch or dinner outside in our yard! don’t know why but I really love the last picture, I can imagine myself there! 😉

I would love to be in that last picture as well! And yeah, I’m thinking I might need to buy a second wheelbarrow just for something like this. My current one is way too full of dirt, mulch, etc. to ever look so nice!

These images are so inspiring–I love them! I live in a teeny-tiny apartment with no yard and the smallest strip of a “lanai” you’ll ever seen (it barely fits the width of my bike and my lemon tree!), but when I move into a house I can’t wait to throw some al fresco dinner parties. I had lunch outside today and it was glorious…more of that, please.

    Hooray for spring!

Thanks Megan! And yes, hooray for spring!! I spent many years living in tiny apartments so I feel your pain. You’ll love it once you’re in a house 🙂

  12. The last one is a fun one. I don’t think I’d be able to get up (because of bad knees) once I was sitting. Of course, the pillows look soft and comfy, I could always sleep right there. lol Nice selection of arrangements.

Ha, I have bad knees too and I was totally thinking that the one with the pillows looks so great and if I couldn’t get back up then — eh, I’ll just sleep there! 🙂

  13. You find the best pictures, Kenley. The colors in the last one make me so excited for outdoor parties! And I love me some Chinese lanterns and white lights when it comes to outdoor decor…so that Real Simple image has caught my eye, too. Thanks for the inspiration!
