Adventures in Everyday Entertaining
One of the many wonderful things about visiting Door County, Wisconsin is that it is full of art galleries. Some of the galleries are in the little towns that line the shoreline of Lake Michigan. However, there are several that have been converted into galleries from old farms and houses that sit on acreage outside of the towns.
Edgewood Orchard Gallery, located just outside of Fish Creek, Wisconsin, is one of those lovely and picturesque galleries. It’s housed in a restored fruit barn that was built in 1918 and sits on 80 acres. The space has been a gallery since 1969 and has works of over 100 artists. One of the featured artists while we were there was William Jauquet. He does sculpture (which you can see below), as well as paintings and furniture. We fell in love with his work and have now vowed that we will one day own a piece of his (though we perhaps might need to win the lottery first). In addition to the two main gallery spaces, there is a bricked courtyard and a fantastic sculpture garden. This is where we spent the majority of our time while visiting the gallery. The sculpture garden (as you’ll see in the photos below) is just incredible.
Edgewood Gallery will now be a required stop whenever we go to Door County!!
