What a wonderful turn of events for Kenley and “L”! The day after our wonderful garden party last month, “L” proposed! After some chatting, we decided that it would be great to skip the engagement process and get married in April. We have already been living together and creating this wonderful home. And we determined that our wedding budget wouldn’t be different whether we got married in a month or in six to twelve months. So it was settled! We began planning a small backyard wedding. Because of the small time frame and the lack of money, our wedding guests are comprised of only a handful of really close friends that live in the area. Both of our families live several states away and so we have decided to do casual family receptions with each of our respective families at a later date.
In the meantime, we left ourselves with three weeks to plan an intimate, classy wedding in our backyard. A dear friend of ours is a wedding officiant and we spent the first week writing our own ceremony, a true representation of the love and devotion that we have for one another. A color scheme of deep red, chocolate brown, and sunflower yellow has transformed this small little event into what will be a truly beautiful evening.
Details and pictures will come soon. In the meantime, I’m a bride that is running around trying to make sure all the pieces are lining up to make this the most wonderful day of our lives.
Congreats! Good luck on your happy day!!
Cynthia
